The Wii U console was launched in November 2012 and is successor to the Wii system. Although not as popular as Nintendo had intended with sales paling in comparison to the Wii system during its release in2009, the Wii U system still had much to offer. The Wii U still used the Wii remote, but Nintendo had also added a larger handheld gaming screen. The size was roughly that of a tablet and was interactive through touch screen movements. Players could sometimes switch gameplay from their tv screen to their handheld screens. The screens also added to gameplay movement, certain obstacles requiring the use of a swipe movement to get past. The Wii Gamepad can also interact with your TV, functioning as a TV remote to change channels and increase volume.
